 Oh, dear night 

Holding onto me so tight

So many of my memories belong to you

So many "I don't know"s and "I love you"

Waiting for a car to pick me up

Or going home after I've been with those I love

Or maybe just dreaming about them

Wondering when I will see them

And you're so empathetic that not only am I crying, but you chose to rain over my tears

To wash away my fears

To bring me some silence

Replacing the violence

Bring me some stillness into your storm

Make me be the one who can let you go

Without worries of tomorrow

Oh, dear night,

With your deepest cold moonlight,

I'm not asking for mercy,

I'm asking you to stay with me, 

As only in complete darkness there are no shadows to see

You only come at artists' hours

You hide our pain and turn it into towers

We climb them and recognize our power

As in all your memories we get to shower

Wondering which one is mine

What's the truth and what's the lie

Between "hello" and "goodbye".

Oh, dear night,

Dressed up as a lonely knight

Come now and reveal your light

That the days have kept from us

Show your eclipse and your stars

We shall know now that the days
