"Where the devil can't succeed, he'll send a woman."
From the beginning of time, women have been considered to be mean. Not always, not each of them, not everywhere. But they were called "mean". Even God punished the woman for convincing Adam to eat an apple. Not any apple, but one from the tree of knowledge. So that even today, as religion says, the woman has to endure terrible pains in order to create life and not only.
For many centuries, women had no rights. They fought for their rights until the rest of the world could finally see that they are not less than what a man can be. They now can vote, they can wear jeans or heels, but the "war" is not over. There are still many countries where women have no right of living, of going to see a doctor, of speaking without permission or of showing their hair, body or identity.
Despite some rights, the laws don't always get in the woman's favor.
Feminism shouldn't be considered a movement against men or against the rules of society. Feminism is supposed to prove that women are strong, independent and that they contributed to inventions and healthcare just as men did.
Being a writer is harder for a woman, having a job is paid less, being a theatre or movie director is considered "weird" and inappropriate for a woman. Even driving a car is considered "not for women" by many men. What I say is not that each woman can do everything as good as a man or better. What I mean is a woman should not receive less respect.
I don't make the laws, I am not a judge - but even if I were, it may be weird, considering I am a girl, right? A judge, a police officer, basically everything with a few exceptions. Even a math teacher that is a woman sounds incredible to some, because "women are not logical". Well, I got a ten in my final logic exam, so what about that?
A woman should not be considered evil or the devil's utensil. After all, Adam had his choice to make. Blaming Eve doesn't change much.
Equality shouldn't mean telling a woman to do "a man's job" in order to win her rights. Maybe she would succeed, maybe she wouldn't. But a woman's job is not to create children and take care of them or to stay home and cook while waiting for "her master" to come home.
And don't get me wrong, but in my opinion, both the woman and the man should have a job, earn a living, respect and love each other and not underestimate what the other can do. And if they want children, there is nothing wrong with that. If they don't, they shouldn't be blamed. A woman should not be convinced to have a baby if she doesn't feel ready, just as the partner's opinion also matters. They are both involved and it is the best that they support each other and have good communication and trust.
The hard times of your life only make you stronger and make it a better story to tell. So dear women reading this, you are loved, precious and fabulous! Never consider yourself superior or inferior! Know your value! You are worth it!
Women are strong, smart, beautiful. But some of them are by far extraordinary.
I thankfully met some of these women (or girls), that also have all my respect, and I will name some of them, hoping they don't mind.
Marilyn Wolff, Rechelle Phillips Wolff, Tina Queen Ross, Haley Faye Rosenthal and her beloved mother, Roberta Feingold Rosenthal, my bestie - Paula Căpriță. These are just some women or girls that made me be glad we share the same genre and that they exist! But there are many more, but still very hard to find in this world.
Forgive me if you are not in the list - it doesn't mean you don't mean something to me!
If you ever met these women, don't forget to let them know how amazing they are!
You go, girls!
